My name is Haley O'Connor  and I am a teacher (knitter, guitarist, singer, artist, writer) who lives and works at an inner-city school Edmonton, Alberta. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of school environments, from a small rural school in British Columbia to large private schools in Egypt. I have taught nearly every subject from grades 2-9. I love interdisciplinary study and I constantly bring other subjects and curricula into my Language Arts and Math classroom. I am passionate about real learning and endeavor to create opportunities for my students to inquire, think critically, and engage in their communities. I believe that assessment for and of learning needs to be an ongoing conversation with learners, not a number given to learners. The views represented on this blog are my own.
